The year of 2017 has been filled with good times and sorrowful ones. As I took another trip around the sun adventures were surely included, and I anticipate more around the corner as we make our way into the year 2018. Continue reading
Life has a funny way of knocking you down with no explanation. Life also has a way of giving you the best gift you ever could imagine. Like when a child holds your hand, the perfect song that comes on the radio, an old friend getting in touch, or simply having amazing people that surround you in your life when any situation comes up.
It’s funny how life is constantly trying to teach us something. Whether it be to watch out for a destructive cycle repeating in your life, to push ourselves out of our comfort zones, or to simply take a breath and dance in the rain.
Let me start off with a few quotes from a movie that is dear to my heart “Tangled” and just perhaps you will relate to them like I do:
Rapunzel: [after leaving her tower; happily] I can’t believe I did this!
Rapunzel: [worried] I can’t believe I did this.
Rapunzel: [excitedly squealing] I CAN’T BELIEVE I DID THIS!
Rapunzel: [nervous laughter] … Mother would be so furious.
Rapunzel: [later, sitting on a rock holding some water lilies] Well, that’s okay! I mean, what she doesn’t know won’t kill her, right?
Rapunzel: [rocking back and forth in a cave] Oh, my gosh… This would kill her!
Rapunzel: [frolicking around] THIS IS SOOO FUUUUUN!
Rapunzel: [standing on a tree branch, head up against the bark] … I am a horrible daughter. I’m going back.
Rapunzel: [cartwheeling] I am NEVER going back! Woo-hoo!
Rapunzel: [face down in the grass] I am a despicable human being!
Rapunzel: [swinging around a tree] WOO-HOOO! BEST DAY EVER!
Ok so here is the deal: Yesterday (January 12th, 2017) was a full moon, and today is Friday the 13th. So it’s time to talk about the strange thoughts that go through my mind on a constant basis:
What would I be like if I were a werewolf?
Wow, my final Blog post of 2016. I apologize for it not being on it’s regular day, but it seems fitting that it is today that I write this.
With the title “May The Force Be With You” I have to address the sad death of Carrie Fisher, followed by her mothers death the very next day. There have been a number of celebrity deaths this year including Alan Rickman, Anton Yelchin, Prince, and so many more. Continue reading
When November/December arrives to the northern Alberta regions, there is a great abundance of snow that is included in this “Winter Package” of sorts. It also includes the freezing temperatures that I like to call “next year I’m moving to a tropical location”, “I can’t feel my face, is it blue?” And of course, “Did I just see a yeti in a parka?”
