Coming this November to a theatre near you! It’s the action-comedy that you’ve all been waiting for. Be ready to swoon, ladies…
Um, sorry I mean…
When the trailer for Thor Ragnarok hit the internet everyone went nuts. But the moment in the trailer that I personally felt was the best was when it revealed that Loki was going to have an active role. And according to me news feeds everyone else felt the same way too.
Let’s just take a moment to appreciate the slow motion walk with him flipping those knives.
I’m honestly not trying to drool over the character of Loki, but it has to be said that he is the most likeable ‘Villian’ I can think of.
Well, other than Doctor Horrible, but that’s a story for another time.
I think back to the first time I watched the movie Thor and a great deal of my female friends were swooning over the title character and all I could think was, “Really? I think the brother is kinda cute”
Obviously I was not alone in the world.
I’m not the type of person who usually sides with the villains, I’m more the type to relate to hero of the tale. The type of hero who put their life on the line to help out the little guy. The Captain America type of hero’s.
But there was just something so vulnerable about Loki and his reasoning for doing what he did. He seemed completely lost and wanting the things that Thor recieved without having to fight his way up to the front of the line again. We’ve all met that one person who is always better, always amazing, always right, and always adored. It’s hard sometimes to step back and realize that standing in the shadow of someone is a choice, and not some sort of cosmic assignment that we have no way of changing.
Loki just needed a hug.
It’s silly because the truth is that Loki is the ultimate bad boy, and he has the horns to prove it. All he needs now is an intricate sleeve tattoo and a motorbike and he would have even more females swooning at the sight of him.
It’s no mistake or crazy random happenstance that Loki is such a beloved character, Tom Hiddleston and clever people at Marvel have certainly done an amazing job at making the character unforgettable. Tom’s incredible acting in itself make the entire journey of Loki from the first Thor movie all the way to this one an addictive journey that all of us can’t seem to get enough of.
Tumbler and Reddit have had countless threads and theories on the character of Loki, and It’s amazing to read through them and try to think if all of the possibilities are true.
So what will we see of Loki in this film? Well we have already been teased with a clip of Thor and Loki talking in the elevator and of course the slow motion walk where he looks directly into camera, and therefore my soul. The movie overall looks like it’s going to be a massive hit and a fun time with Thor’s one liners, The Hulk smashing all matter of things, and of course our favourite Asgardian frost giant.
Who is filled with glorious purpose.
